The SEA Stars Program is a phenomenal opportunity for students to propel their college career while in middle school. Miami Dade College is very aware that adding college credit courses to a student’s workload can be very strenuous. With this being said, I would like to settle your concern be letting you know that we take this very seriously. Dual enrollment for middle school students is only offered during the Summer and has a set of stringent requirements.

In effort to make sure we are promoting success and offering the program to the correct students, we have implemented the following requirements:
- Completed 6th Grade.
- Teacher or counselor recommendation https://mdc.formstack.com/forms/nsc_sea_stars_program_2023
- Minimum 3.0 GPA average or better in one of the following classes:
- Algebra I
- Geometry
- Biology
- Physical Science
- Foreign Language
- Score at college level on placement exam for Reading, Writing, and Math. ( SEA Stars are only able to test twice. )
